How about some Christmas Carols for sports fans?
The Rabid Fans at http://www.rabidfans.com/ have produced four CDs full of holiday carols, with each CD devoted to one of the four sports team cities as the spoofed carols celebrate the histories of all-time great teams and players from the Green Bay Packers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears.
The CDs include songs related to baseball and basketball, not just football, but it's during the November-December stretch that football has the spotlight.
According to their website, a video featuring the Rabid Fans' song "Go Pittsburgh" was seen by millions of ESPN viewers Sunday, December 5, 2004 during the opening of Sunday Night Football. Commissioned by ESPN, lyrics were re-written to reflect the game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Jacksonville Jaguars, and video was shot in high definition!
You can read the lyrics, samples, and liner notes. Each team area has an audio sample you can listen to! The website has links there to eMusic and iTunes where you can download the Rabid Fans' albums or individual songs.
For example, from their CD "Green Bay", the song "Deck Your Head" has these sample lyrics:
Deck your head with cheeseheads yellow, fa la la la la, la la la la!
Then you'll be a merry fellow, fa la la la la, la la la la!
Don we now our green apparel, fa la la la la, la la la la!
And we'll sing some Packer carols, fa la la la la, la la la la!
Or how about from the CD "Chicago Bears", this one devoted to the Bulls basketball team:
Chicago fans must not forget
Our greatest ever team.
Phil Jackson was the head coach
And Jordan led the dream.
Oh Jordan jams one in the hoop,
He plays with all his might.
His airness seems to score at will,
it is really quite a sight.
